       Dominated by its splendid hand painted Chinese wall paper, the Drawing Room also houses some of the many items presented to Scott including a silver urn received from Lord Byron. The particularly attractive central chandelier was originally designed for the use of gas. Scott was one of the first to convert to gas lighting in the Borders and by 1823 gas was produced on the premises. |
